1. Hot stamping machine

Currently, the commonly used hot stamping machines are: 6-station machine (suitable for various round surfaces, irregular whole surfaces, lines, transfers, etc.), 8-station machine (suitable for various round surfaces, line hot stamping and transfers, etc.), flat ironing machine and rolling ironing machine (mainly used for hot stamping pictures and texts on flat products), round hot stamping machine (including double round machine, used for hot stamping pictures and texts on round surface substrates), special-shaped machine (can be used for hot stamping pictures and texts on the whole surface, lines, etc. of various irregular products), etc. The selection of hot stamping equipment is the key factor in determining the quality of hot stamping.

2. Hot stamping plate

High-quality hot stamping plate is the primary factor in ensuring the quality of hot stamping. At present, the production of hot stamping plates mainly adopts photoetching technology and electronic engraving technology, and the materials are usually copper plates or zinc plates. The copper plate is fine in material, and the surface finish and heat transfer effect are better than the zinc plate. The use of high-quality copper plates can improve the gloss and outline clarity of hot stamping images. The traditional photoetching technology is simple and low-cost to make hot stamping plates, which are mainly used for text, thick lines, and general images; for hot stamping plates with finer textures and uneven text thickness, secondary deep rot or electric engraving technology is required. Electric engraving can show rich and delicate level changes, greatly expanding the packaging performance ability, and this process is beneficial to environmental protection. However, the investment in electric engraving equipment is relatively large, and the current engraving depth is not ideal, which is easy to cause hot stamping "paste".

The production technology requirements of holographic anti-counterfeiting hot stamping plates are relatively high. In the past, they were mainly made in Taiwan or abroad. The plate making cycle was long and it was only used for the packaging of fixed and large batch products. The hot stamping plate is mainly made of the following materials: Silicone plate (rubber wheel): suitable for general plastic shells, generally 1.5 mm thick, applicable temperature 180℃~380℃; Copper plate: suitable for large-scale, deep hot stamping, relatively durable, applicable temperature 120℃~280℃. Zinc plate: not resistant to high temperature and high pressure, applicable temperature 120℃~150℃. In addition, there are steel plates, magnesium alloy plates, etc., which are basically eliminated at present.

3. Hot stamping foil

Hot stamping foil is electrochemical aluminum hot stamping foil, which is the main material for hot stamping. The thickness of hot stamping foil is generally 6 microns to 35 microns, and 12 microns is generally used. The images and texts of thin hot stamping foil are clearer, and the fonts will become blurred when hot stamping thick foil. The basic structure of hot stamping foil is base film layer, alcohol-soluble dyeing resin layer, aluminum plating layer, and adhesive layer. It can be roughly divided into two thin layers: polyester film substrate and transfer layer. During hot stamping, the hot stamping foil contacts the substrate, and the transfer layer is fused and transferred to the surface of the substrate by heat and pressure. When the hot stamping is completed, the polyester film is peeled off together with the untransferred part.

Hot stamping foil can be divided into general type (generally used for ABS, PVC, PS, PC), special type (PP color foil, generally used for PP, PE) and common type (applicable to ABS and PP, this foil has good temperature resistance). Hot stamping foil is divided into two categories: roll foil and sheet foil. Roll foil can be divided into different models according to the hot stamping material, mainly No. 1, No. 8, No. 12, No. 15, No. 18 and general type, etc., such as gold, silver, brown red, light blue, black, bright red, green, etc. according to its color.

1. Round flat stamping method:

The round flat stamping method is actually the process principle of the flat thermal transfer machine. Flat thermal transfer machines are mainly used for flat substrates and large curved surfaces. The products that can be round flat transferred are mainly in the following forms: products that need to be transferred on the entire surface. Panels of household appliances, a certain surface of cosmetic boxes, the upper surface of plastic gift boxes or wooden jewelry boxes, toy puzzle boards, plastic decorative murals, table display racks, fan surfaces, PVC plastic boards, etc., skis, plastic posters. By designing a floating device on the workbench, the round flat stamping machine can transfer special products with more complex shapes. The representatives of this type of thermal transfer machine are KC-H-150M and KC-H-300M. We usually call the transfer machine with the stamping device as a rubber roller a thermal transfer machine.

2. Round-on-round hot stamping method:

It is the process principle of the cylindrical heat transfer machine. In order to achieve multi-purpose use of one machine, most hot stamping machine manufacturers combine the functions of the flat heat transfer machine and the round surface heat transfer machine to achieve the dual functions of the flat and curved surface. When performing flat transfer, the rubber roller presses down and rotates, and the workbench moves in the left and right directions; when performing curved surface transfer, the workbench is kept stationary, and only the rubber roller and the round surface product interact with each other in pure rolling.

Toothpaste, facial cleanser, hand cream, facial cleanser, etc. The opening of such products is as large as the bottle body, and a support shaft can be made to conveniently support the product for transfer.

u Cup products

Cup products are similar to hoses, and the opening is generally larger than the bottle body. It is more convenient to make the support shaft. The proportion of cup products using transfer technology is the largest.

3. Flat pressing hot stamping method:

Profile transfer process

Many products are not standard flat or round surfaces, and some even have very complex surfaces. To perform hot stamping on the surfaces of such products, profile transfer technology is required: KC-H-TC120KM is a profile hot stamping machine with a floating workbench. Its workbench can float up and down so that the hot stamped product and the rubber roller are in close contact; KC-H-TC318M is a profile hot stamping machine with a floating rubber roller. The rubber roller can float along the contour of the product to complete the hot stamping.


Hot stamping principle and process conditions

The main material for hot stamping is electroplated aluminum, also called hot stamping foil. It is mainly composed of two thin layers, namely the polyester film substrate and the transfer layer. During hot stamping, the transfer layer is pressed on all or part of the surface of the substrate by heat and pressure. When the hot stamping is completed, the polyester film edge is torn off together with the untransferred part.

The hot stamping process is divided into four steps:

1. The hot stamping foil contacts the substrate;

2. With heat and pressure, the heat transfer layer is melted and transferred to the surface of the substrate;

3. Remove the pressure and peel off the polyester film;

4. Feed the hot stamping foil and replace it with the substrate to be hot stamped.

The perfect hot stamping effect mainly depends on the level of coordination between temperature, pressure and hot stamping time. In addition, it is also necessary to consider whether the substrate, hot stamping machine, hot stamping machine fixture and pad are suitable. Finally, it is necessary to study the environmental conditions, including indoor temperature, substrate temperature, indoor air cleanliness (dust content), temperature, etc.

1. Hot stamping foil, there are two categories: roll foil and single sheet foil. Roll foil can be divided into different models according to the substrate. The hot stamping suitability between anodized aluminum and the substrate, speed, temperature, pressure, hot stamping plate quality, plate mounting and padding technology, anodized aluminum tension adjustment, hot stamping machine condition and many other factors affect the hot stamping suitability speed, temperature and pressure. The hot stamping suitability speed, temperature and pressure are the most important. The performance of various types of anodized aluminum is different, and the suitable substrates are also different.

2. Hot stamping temperature. If the hot stamping temperature is too high, the hot stamping mark will lose its metallic luster and bubble, the edge will be unclear or even the plate will be smeared. If the hot stamping temperature is too low, it will be impossible to hot stamp, the hot stamping will not be firm or the handwriting will be hairy.

3. Hot stamping pressure. If the hot stamping pressure is too high, it will cause the plate to be smeared or the handwriting to become smeared. If the hot stamping pressure is too low, the hot stamping foil and the substrate cannot be adhered, and the hot stamping part of the hot stamping foil cannot be sheared. The installation of the hot stamping foil should not be too tight or too loose. If it is too tight, the writing will be missing strokes, and if it is too loose, the writing will be unclear and fuzzy.

4. Hot stamping speed. The hot stamping speed actually reflects the contact time between the substrate and the hot stamping foil during hot stamping, which directly affects the hot stamping fastness. If the hot stamping speed is too fast, it will cause the hot stamping to fail or the imprint to be blurred; if the hot stamping speed is too slow, it will affect both the hot stamping quality and the production efficiency.

Speed, pressure, and temperature restrict each other during the hot stamping process, and its process parameters are always determined in the order of hot stamping speed, pressure, and temperature. First determine the hot stamping speed. Under normal circumstances, it is treated as a constant and not easily changed. Then find the hot stamping pressure and hot stamping temperature that are suitable for it. In this way, the operating procedures can be simplified and the hot stamping quality can be easily controlled.

5. Hot stamping machine. According to the hot stamping method, the hot stamping machine can be divided into three types: flat-pressed flat, round-pressed flat, and round-pressed round; according to the position of the hot stamping plate, the hot stamping machine can be divided into vertical and horizontal.

6. Printing materials, hot stamping materials are also called printing materials. The printing materials for hot stamping of printed materials include offset paper, coated paper, white cardboard (cardboard), cloth paper, varnished cloth, plastic products, etc.

In addition, resin plates can also replace copper-zinc plates for hot stamping. As long as the temperature and pressure are well matched, good products can be hot stamped. 1) Temperature control is very critical. It is directly related to the quality of hot stamping. If the temperature is too high, the resin plate will be burned. The hot stamping foil will also produce adhesion due to the temperature, and the hot stamped words will be blurred. The temperature should be determined according to the quality of the tree plate. 2) Since the resin plate is tough, it is not necessary to use too much pressure, and the hot stamped words will be very clear. 3) It is best to use double-sided tape to fix the resin plate. This tape will not affect the heat insulation and is easy to control the temperature.

The operator of the hot stamping machine must concentrate, work with hands and feet simultaneously, and keep a certain distance from the hot stamping heating plate to avoid accidents. For machine adjustment, please read the random instruction manual carefully.
